HVAC Systems
A traditional split-system is comprised of 2 pieces of equipment, an outdoor condenser and an indoor air handler. The outdoor condensing equipment houses a condensing coil and compressor. An indoor air handler that houses an evaporator coil and blower fan.
Straight Cool
A straight-cool split-system is made up of 3 major components that completes the system. The condensing unit which cools down the home/business during the hottest days of the year. The Furnace unit which warms up the same areas in the cold winter days. Finally, the Evaporator Coil, which works as the heart of the split-system. The responsibility of the evaporator coil is to cool down the refrigerant so that it can absorb the heat that it takes in. When the fan blows air over the coil, the refrigerant becomes cold and turns into a vaporous state.
Gas Package System
A gas package system operates just like a split-system except, it's all wrapped up into one autonomous unit. It has all 3 major components: condenser, evaporator coil, and furnace in one big box, typically these units are on the rooftop. Gas package systems use electricity to operate the AC and gas to operate the furnace.

Heat Pump Split-System
A Heat Pump split-system is comprised of 2 pieces of equipment, an outdoor condenser and an indoor air handler. The outdoor condensing equipment houses a condensing coil that works as a heat exchanger and compressor. An indoor air handler that houses an evaporator coil and blower fan. During the summer months, a heat pump works just like a normal air conditioning system, during the winter months, the air handler helps the heat pump bring in the cool air out of your home/business and cycles it outside while it blows in the warm air at the same time.
Heat Pump Package System
A Heat Pump package system works like the heat pump split system except the unit houses both outdoor condensing heat pump and indoor air handler into one cabinet. Like the split system counterpart, the packaged system works all year long. During the summer months, a heat pump works just like a normal air conditioning system, during the winter months, the air handler helps the heat pump bring in the cool air out of your home/business and cycles it outside while it blows in the warm air at the same time.
